AI can write useful code, but a report is only as useful as your ability to explain its numbers. In this course, you’ll build a small feedback report in JavaScript that answers one question: how many approved feedback messages arrived about each topic in the reporting period, and which messages are they?
Anyone who doubts a count can read the messages behind it, along with the records that still need review and the ones your input rules set aside.
You write the reporting logic yourself. The supplied report app, which you set up in the previous course, loads the feedback and displays the result, so every number on the screen comes from your own functions.
In this course, you’ll learn how to:
- Agree on a short brief that fixes the topics, the counting rule, the reporting period, and what the report counts
- Compose your functions into one report function and connect it to the supplied report app
- Count only the messages inside a reporting period with a supplied helper that includes both the first and last day
- Keep the messages behind each count, and list pending records under Needs review and excluded records with their reasons
- Adapt one rule with an AI suggestion and check the change against the brief
- Track down a surprising count step by step and fix it yourself
- Hand the report over with usage instructions, a checked example, and one concrete limitation
As an optional extension, you’ll also compare the counts of two periods of equal length. Your report is still useful without it.
This course builds on the earlier feedback reporting courses: you should be able to write reusable functions and handle the agreed input rules. You don’t need an AI account.
